We moved

Finally, all the furniture has been moved, and we’ve settled in our new comfortable home . Dee and I have officially transferred our blog to our new location, now called “Yameen-Shmal“.

Egyptians are hilarious, they’ve always been labelled as a hilarious nation. I was just sitting down watching TV and this Sprite ad aired on “MBC Max” and I’m still laughing my ass off. There’s something about that language that’s just hilarious, I don’t know what it is.

These ad’s feature 2 characters called Mr.Lemon and Dr.Lime and it advertises the new Sprite : “Lemoon aktar, sooda aktar”, meaning more Lemon and more Soda.  I’m posting up 4 hilarious videos, hope you laugh as much as I did.

The second one is called “SNORKLE”

Just in case you missed it, Dr.Lime tells Mr.Lemon : “Nifse to2a3 bi eed 3ayel mzakem yo3sorak 3ala kobayet shay, nifse.” which translates to : “I wish you’d fall into the hands of a kid with the flu, and he squeezes you over a cup of tea, I wish”. Hahaha, hilarious couple !

This might be a new fixture on our blog if you guys like it, me and shadz will be posting some links for various websites. The subjects will range from music to architecture to games maybe even food :). We already have a blogroll here with different links for very nice blogs we read so incase you haven’t checked any of them we’ll be posting some here as well, telling you a bit about the blogger so you go check them out. Balki they do the same for us and more people start reading us :p.

So for today I’m going to start with a nice website I go on whenever I’m in a particular mood and they sure help me out, either diving more into it or getting out hehe. It goes by the name of Musicovery . 

Musicovery is an internet radio (so it streams songs and not downloads them), but no need for registration wohoo (cause I hate that whenever I want something I have to register to some site which I know I won’t be checking ever again), although if you do register you get better quality and some kind of profile to save your music and songs on so it knows what you prefer. The people behind Musicovery are simply genii (or geniuses hehe wait for my next post on this) :D. The entire idea of this internet radio is that it’s not like any other, you get to tell them what mood you’re in, energetic, positive, calm, dark, dance etc. You get to tell them which specific year or range of years you want to hear songs from, and you get to tell them what genres you prefer, from jazz to gospel to rock or funk. So you make a few clicks here and there, and VOILA, you get something that looks like a network of songs which go with your mood and all your specifications . (If only there was a service like this for men :p hehe).

I personally think this is one hell of an idea, cause one thing that pisses me off about my ipod when it’s on shuffle is that for a while I think that this creature actually knows how I’m feeling and plays perfect songs for my mood, then out of nowhere some song comes up and fucks everything lol. So this is wayyyy better than any other radio I have seen, plus it introduces you to some nice artists/songs which you may not be familiar with . How do you like that .

If I were *blank*..

The word “if” is a conjunction comprised of merely 2 letters, but it’s power is massive. I’ve had my fair share of if’s in my life, whether I’ve used it to dream or to wish I did something differently. If is a word of imagination, hopes and unfulfilled desires. If is a word of resent to actions taken differently, situations handled bearing outcomes you wish you can change, only “if” you had done it differently. Although I’ve said it a million times, I always believe that at the end of the day, it’s always a lesson learnt. We do not have the power to change the past, but “if” we learn from our mistakes, then we don’t have to repeat the if. Sometimes if’s are impossible to accomplish, and we sit and repeat our if’s over and over again to no avail.

“If I were *blank*” is the title to this post because I’ve always wished some things could work out differently. No, it’s not because I’m not satisfied with the way my life is, I love who I am, but what I mean by “things” is events in the world today, that I could change if I were someone else.

1. If I were God :

If you’re expecting something as cliche’ as “I would rid the world of famine and hunger” then guess again. If I were God I would leave the world as it is, with it’s disease, wars, poverty and pain. I would not change anything, because it is we who have turned our life into what it is today. We are responsible for the hole in the Ozone Layer that’s supposed to protect us. We are responsible for turning jealousy and greed into wars. We are responsible for what we believe in and the way we live our life today. The only thing I would do if I were God is come down to Earth.

2. If I were a powerful, rich Arab leader :

If I were a powerful, rich Arab leader, especially from the 5aleej, I would stop pissing my money away building 12 star hotels that burn down because of a $20 million fireworks display, and start using my money to benefit mankind. One day, those lovely gentleman are going to go back to living in a tent and suckling on camel teets. There’s a million things you can do with a million dollars, other than building yet ANOTHER hotel in the middle of nowhere. Go build a city for people who don’t have homes. Instead of aiding Gaza by sending medicine, go build them a fucking hospital! You can afford 10 hospitals!

3. If I were Superman :

If I were Superman, I’d fly my girlfriend on my back and take her to the clouds .

God, Superman is such a cheesy character isn’t he ? I bet 90% of guys would use his X-ray vision to peek at girl’s undies . His super powers to fight evil maybe ? I’d take a bullet in the eye just for the fun of it, hahaha!

If, if, if. It’s always an if in this world. We’re standing around doing nothing with the big heads stacking up the money piles at home. We’re standing around being selfish and inconsiderate while all we care about is who builds the biggest tower or who has the best religion. It’s all just a bunch of bullshit propaganda that brainwashes this human race into following a path drawn by those people with the money. Money is power, money is everything. Money can buy you material things, money can buy you people, money can even buy you countries, but you cannot buy me with money. Me, as in myself and other people like me. People who don’t dive into the system like a child diving into the shallow end of the pool, you’ll get hurt ‘ey ?

Funny Item # 3

If you grew up in Jordan in the late 80s and in the 90s then you should be familiar with our funny item #3 . It’s the infamous RAS IL 3ABED. Ras Il 3abed has been around for as long as i can remember really. I remember once school took us to the factory where it’s made and it was extremely dirty and shitty, or maybe that was a dream I truly don’t remember lol. That didn’t ruin the “Ras Il 3abed experience” for me though .

Everything about it is just hilarious. Start with the packaging, I haven’t personaly seen anything packed the way Ras Il 3abed is. Then u open that thingy and out comes a brownish round thing with a flat bottom, ino ballahi ma its funny?! Now comes the interesting part, eating it . Hmm the chocolate shell thingy and the biscuit and the white cream stuff are a very nice combination and once u bite into it and the white stuff gets all over your face it becomes the funniest thing ever, and if someone is lookin at you with the white stuff on your face then YOU become the funniest thing ever :p.

What do you guys think of Ras Il 3abed? If you haven’t ever tried it then ra7 3alekom nos 3omerkom , no I’m kidding, but you should try it. I think they should change it a bit though, like make different kinds and tastes, keef fi malion kitkat mathalan ino haik Ras Il 3abed 3a lemon, another one caramel, ishi strawberry he3. What do you think?

“Fe zombarak bi ijrak el shmal 7abeebi ?”

“Fe zombarak bi ijrak el shmal 7abeebi ?” is what came out of the instructors mouth as I switched gears in the car today. I took my second lesson today and it was awesome. It’s my first time driving properly through streets: negotiating turns, round-abouts and shifting gears. Apparently I’m doing really well since the car didn’t turn off, not once, on my first day driving. It did today though, because of the moronic mistake of taking my leg far too fast off the clutch, that made him describe my left leg as a spring – “zombarak”. I drove around Irbid for an hour and I swear it’s probably the most fun I’ve had since I started this semester. I’m not a big fan of driving, obviously, since I’m 19 and I don’t have a driving license yet. I’m always the guy next to the driver, changing radio channels faster than the car’s moving or switching songs on the iPod before they end (hahaha, my brother hates when I do this).

Next year I’m going to start clinical practice and I’m going to be needing my own car to get around to different hospitals every week, soo now I’m applying for a license, whoot, finally. I’ve already started negotiations with my father as to what car I’m going to be wanting, haha, but with the current financial slaughter ongoing in Dubai, I’ll be glad to get the money to finish up my paperwork and get my license .

On a final note, I turned the radio to SBIN 88.3  while driving. Finally, an english radio station blasting through the car stereo. I love SBIN, and the whole crew at SBIN Jordan rocks, especially Hasan from the spin@work segment, Kudos to Hasan! 

Let’s hope I can get all my lessons done during this coming month and hopefully I’ll be posting a picture of my driving license soon *eyebrows up and down* .
