H1N1 – Swine Flu : How to protect yourself and others.

My dad has been bombarding me with emails about the H1N1 virus for days now, apparently he’s trying to be over-protective :P. I love my dad 😀 ! Anyway, so one of the more attractive emails he sent were posters from the WHO [World Health Organization], detailing how to protect yourself and others from contracting the virus. On June 11th, the WHO declared the virus a global pandemic, after reaching Phase 6. More than 70 countries are now reporting cases of human infection with novel H1N1 flu.

Jordan, Qatar and Yemen have reported their first cases of Swine Flu today. In Amman, two Jordanian girls arriving from the US, one 11 and the other 17, were found to be infected with the H1N1 virus, and were quarantined at a nearby hospital. Flu cases have also been found in several Gulf Arab States: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait . According to the WHO, it has infected over 37,000 people and killed 165 already..

Here are the 2 posters, spread them around, tell your friends and your family members and Saed, stop shagging your Miss Piggy plush 🙂 for all our sakes, haha! [That’s 2-0 ass!] :

  1. Ya not gonna work 3inna. You honestly expect people not to kiss when they greet each other? they’ll take it as an insult. Not to forget our Mansaf eating style will exponentially help in its spread!

  2. It’s a good thing the tradition says mansaf 3a la7me, not mansaf 3a 5anzeer. If that’s the case then I quote some old guy : “Bala fluenza 5anazeer bala s5am el bein, nazle hal 5anzeer ya mara!”. Hahaha! [If this insults any Jordanians please don’t take offense :D]

  3. the use of face masks and boosting your immune system by taking lots of vitamin-C is still an effective way of preventing the spread of the Swine Flu virus.
